Toddler 2
22-30 months
Children approaching 2 years old make new discoveries daily and begin to express their independence. Our Toddler 2 program immerses toddlers to a world of learning and exploring- not just about the world around them, but also their own identities. The T2 classroom is grounded in early learning fundamentals, and enriched with a rich blend of music, art, and dramatic play. In this room, our children build confidence, self-esteem, and learn at a rapid rate.
For this room of active, energetic toddlers, we have a low child-teacher ratio of 4 to 1.
5 Areas of Focus
Communicating with Others
OCC helps stimulate toddlers' vocabulary development by prompting imitation and repetition of words and sentences. We build alphabet recognition through play with letter centers, and strengthen conversation skills with group sharing and story-time.
Building Brain Power
OCC immerses our toddlers in experiences designed to expand the mind. We practice sorting, matching and categorizing, and teach counting, number identification, and patterning. We allows toddlers to experiment with writing materials and value scribbles.
Making New Friends
OCC helps your child experience a sense of community. We support cooperative play, use whole and small group activities to model sharing, communication, and cooperation, and demonstrate how to recognize others’ feelings and respond appropriately.
Growing a Health Body
OCC coaches your child to develop new physical abilities. We encourage large-motor skills with riding equipment, balls, and movement activities. Our kids work on fine-motor and eye-hand coordination through lacing and cutting activities, and serving themselves at meal times.
Nurturing Creativity
OCC encourages your child to express individuality. We support dramatic play, introduce different art materials like crayons and markers, and stimulate imagination through storytelling and block-building.
